An incident is when a Merced Police employee arrives on the scene from a call for service. Not all calls for service require a Merced Police employee to arrive on the scene.  Incidents can include one or more MPD employees at the scene. The total count does not include the total number of employees at the scene.

This dashboard provides data for cases when Officers write a report.  Not all incidents require a report. This dashboard covers all reports written by a police officer to document crimes.

An arrest is when a Merced Police employee takes into custody or cites and releases a person for violating one or more laws (misdemeanor and felonies).

  • Female persons = 50%
  • Hispanic or Latino 59%

A ticket is a legal notice to a person charged with a violation of the law. Ticket types on this dashboard include vehicle code violations, “fix it” tickets, and written warnings.
